Black and yellow Mitsubishi Lancer spotted at Hills Shopping Mall, Kuching, Sarawak. Those 2 cars were there during the weekend for promotion of their superb car alarm system.

The black one is the latest model launched in 2007 until present.

The yellow Lancer is in fact one of the very old models, fifth generation of Mitsubishi series.It was probably launched in 1988+.

Though it is an old car, however, it was modified with minimal body kits, sports rims, and custom yellow paint and vinyl. The front and back lamps are preserved with the original lamps.

Is ChurpChurp a scam?

I’ve been faithfully using ChurpChurp for about a year. If you do not know what is ChurpChurp, it is in fact a sub company of Nuffnang, and users who use ChurpChurp, or better known as Churpers get to earn money by generating unique click through their advertiser’s links.

ChurpChurp pays users RM0.20 for every unique click generated. On every Wednesday, money credited will be doubled to RM0.40 per unique click.BUT, there are few aspects I am not happy with ChurpChurp:

1. Not real time basis of clicks counting

ChurpChurp does not count your clicks as real time basis. In fact, they only credit you your earnings usually after 1 week or after the campaign have ended. In comparison to another similar company, Says.my, the clicks are counted as real-time basis.

2. Unique clicks are not equal to my earnings

Because I always found that my I only have 1 to 2 unique clicks even though I posted my links on my main page of my site with 450 unique visits per day, on Facebook or Twitter, I started to query regarding the mechanism how ChurpChurp count their clicks. I’ve attached some proof on clicks generated through Google Analytics, and how much earning do I get from those clicks.

My clicks based on Google.

You can see how pathetic is my earnings for each campaign. Ranging from RM0.20 - RM0.60, or in other words, is only 1 - 3 unique clicks.

If you come to think of it, with total clicks of 300-400 per day, it is almost impossible to receive only that few UNIQUE clicks. Thus I am still waiting for them to credit my earnings, which I would not put so much hope on.

3. Relatively High Payout

Payout is RM100 (about 500 unique clicks), which is considered very high if you do not generate sufficient clicks. Thus I would assume only a minority group of people will successfully get their payout, and probably will need to wait for a year or two for a second payout. This is relatively higher in comparison to other similar regional companies who pay out at RM50.

The purpose of writing this post is not to defame ChurpChurp, but I just want to share my experience with my fellow Churpers. If you have received payout from them, congratulations!

Cracking your head thinking of which one to use for your blogs and sites? Or want to use both instead to maximize earnings? Please read carefully on few criteria below to choose the best online advertising company for your blog.

If you are more into Internet money-making rather than blogging, probably you will stuff whatever online ads you find into your sites to optimize your earnings. BUT, this will only make yourself crumpled with ads and scares your readers away.

Before we start, we should look into how a blogger can generate income from his or her blogs:
1. By Clicks - Blogger get paid when readers click on the ads on your sites.
2. By Impressions - Blogger get paid by getting sufficient traffic to the sites.

First before you start, ask yourself a few questions:

1. Identify your Objective(s)

Blog for money or interest?

First thing first, in reality there are not many who can successfully earn a living with the pure intention of making money from Internet. There are definitely more people who write good quality blogs, and making money from it as a bonus. If you are not into blogging, think of other ways to make money, such as affiliates marketing, online auction etc.

2. Who is your audience?

Malaysia or Non-Malaysia ?
If your sites are targeting audiences mainly in Malaysia, probably it is better to use Nuffnang rather than Adsense. Majority of the Google Adwords advertisers are from United States, Europe, or UK in which their high paying ads are targeted to their own countries. The high paying ads will not show up if your site is browsed from an Asia IP address. In other words, you are publishing low paying ads with merely $0.01 to $0.10 earned per click. High paying ads can generate high income, as high as $5.00 per click.

On the other hand, Nuffnang prefer sites with visitors from Malaysia & Singapore as advertisers are local from Malaysia. Thus, even though you are running a Page Rank 5 international site, you may have only minimal earnings from Nuffnang.

3. Do you use blog rotation sites?

If you use certain blog roll or blog rotation sites, it is best to avoid using Adsense as it will get your account suspended. Example of blog rotation sites which poses some risks to your Adsense account include Easyhits4u, BlogExplosion, Linkreferral etc.

4. How much is your daily traffic?

If your site receive daily traffic of few thousands unique page views, then most likely you will success with Adsense. Google Adsense pays every time when your impressions reach 1000, and the amount they pay varies each time based on your eCPM.

On the contrary, Nuffnang will be good if used for average page views sites, as blogger get paid whenever an ad is published(regardless of page views).

The above conclusions are my humble opinions. It may differ from individual to individual and depend on the natures of the sites, it might work differently.

Vietnam House is the restaurant at Genting Highland, situated right at the center of Genting Indoor Theme Park, near Genting First World Hotel. It offers unique and tasty Vietnamese cuisine, with reasonable price.

The chef is a Vietnamese, Nguyen Thi My Phuong, and staffs are also Vietnamese too. They served the customer in English, wearing their traditional Vietnamese costume.

Decoration was done in order to give customer the ‘real’ sense of being in Vietnam!

Vietnamese Food

The food are good, with the famous spring roll from Vietnam. Vegetables were wrapped into a roll by a thin layer of skin made of flour. It can serve as both an appetizer, or a dessert as it harbors the natural aroma of the different vegetables.

This is the mixed fruit with blended ice at the bottom. It may look small from here but in fact it is a size for 2 adult.

How about the Price?

With above food purchased, it cost about USD 15, or RM50 approximately, which is considered reasonable in view of the portion of the food. More importantly, it is not the price matters, but the taste of the food.

Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo is one of the must-go destinations if you have a chance to visit Singapore. Not only can you have a chance to look at various animals, in fact there various ride such as boats and trains, and there are few attractive live animal shows and presentations.

You will need a day at Singapore Zoo, so please go early around 9am. If during peak season, you may need to queue for hours to get your entrance ticket. Singapore Zoo opens daily until 5pm. Once you finished at the Zoo, you can join the Night Safari, which is only 5 minutes away from the Zoo. At Night Safari, you can ride a tram and have a closer look at various animals. Despite taking on tram, one can choose to walk along the trail. There are 2 special shows at night, and you should not miss them.

How to go to Singapore Zoo/Night Safari?

Go to any MRT Station, take the train to Ang Mo Kio MRT station.

From Ang Mo Kio station, take a bus with No 138, it will take you to Singapore Zoo. The journey of the bus will take around 20 minutes.

Singapore Zoo Entrance Fees

The entrance fees for adult cost us $45 each. This fee is inclusive of entrance to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, and also a souvenir. However, there are promotional tickets and also special discount for foreigners if you bring your passport. Due to the heavy human traffic that morning, we did not take the normal queue; instead, we purchased our ticket at the front counter which was slightly more expensive.

A great Movie directed by Justin Lin in 2006, The Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift was another favorite movie of car lovers. Cars featured in this film include 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR driven by Sean, 2006 Mazda RX-8 driven by Neela, 2006 Nissan 350Z driven by Morimoto and Villain DK, Veilside Fortune RX-7 driven by Han etc.

Storyline

A high school kid, Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), was involved in illegal racing with his schoolmates and commit juvenile offense. To avoid going to jail, he was then transferred to Tokyo, Japan with his father, who is a military. From there, he knew a bunch of friends who were underground car racers and drifters. Sean started as a rookie drifter, was then taught on how to drift by Han (Sung Kang). In the final race against DK (Brian Tee),Sean won the race and get himself out from the Yakuza fight.

Movie was shot both in Tokyo and Los Angelas. What I like about the movies mainly is the cars, second is the skills in drifting. All the drifting in the movie were done by professional drifters, and not using any CGI or computer editing.

Proton Waja as BumbleBee in Malaysia

On my normal day of driving in Kuching, I came across Bumblebee, which has not transformed and in his vehicle form.

This is in fact a yellow Proton Waja, modified with custom fiber at its car plate, with crystal tail lamp. Moreover, what impressed me was the custom solid yellow paint, with the signature BumbleBee stripes on the car.

And this, is the original BumbleBee featured in Transformer I, II and III. Its model is 2009 Chevrolet Camaro, painted yellow and added stripes on it.

As for this is the first version of BumbleBee in Transformer I,1977 Chevrolet Camaro, before it transformed into 2009 Chevrolet Camaro.

With the film Transformer, it has impacted the whole automotive world in United States and Europe, making Chevrolet Camaro the best selling sports car since then.

“The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. In 2010, for the first time in 24 years, Chevrolet Camaro was the top sales sports car in U.S, followed by Ford Mustang.

This is a brief guide and personal experience of touring Universal Studio, Singapore in September 2011. My wife and I had a fun and amazing experience in Singapore Universal Studio. How to go to Universal Studio, Singapore

It might be a pain if you have not been to Singapore before. However, MRT and bus services are extremely good.

From any MRT station, take the MRT to Harbour Front Station. From there, look for bus Number RWS and it will bring you to Sentosa Resort in 10 minutes time.

Singapore Universal Studio Attractions:

Singapore Universal Studio officially opens at 10am. However, we arrived slightly earlier at 9:15am, and it was a good start to reach early. We shot a few photos with the signature Universal Studio globe at the entrance. Because it is early, there were no crowd thus making photo taking easier.

The queue started to build up when at 9:30am and the gate opens at around 9:45am. Immediately we entered and started playing each attraction.

There are many attractions in Universal Studio Singapore which I will not list all of them here. The first on our left is Madagascar: Madagascar: A Crate Adventure. In fact it is mainly a family ride in which you can bring your children and sit in the board and enjoy the story.

After exploring Madagascar for an hour or so, we proceed to Jurassic Park, in which one can enjoy thrill rides, and also family rides, namely Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. One of the attractions here was still under renovation while we were there. Along the path there are many restaurants and stalls available to quench your thirst. Food and beverages are not cheap, you may want to bring your own drinking water although outside food and drinks are not allowed.

Then we came to The Mummy! This was the first thrill ride we played on that morning. We were required to put our belongings in the lockers as we were not allowed to carry any bags for the high speed ride. As for the locker, it is free for the first 20 minutes. In conclusion, the ride is AMAZING! You get to sit in a high speed roller coaster in the dark and enjoy various exciting scene. However, if your spouse or partners do not like thrill ride, please don’t try this!

This was what happened if your spouse couldn't stand thrill ride!

Apart from playing different themed-attractions, we were in fact taking brisk walk along the path and taking photos. Classic cars which date back to 1950s, old buildings are favorite spot for photo taking.

In addition, there are live shows available at specific time, such as Water World etc. In Water World, the seats are allocated as dry, partially wet and wet. For the first few rows, the audience will definitely get wet while enjoying the show. However, no photographing and video taking are allowed during the live shows.

At 4.00pm, we managed to finish about 90% of all Universal Studio attractions and shows. The other 10% is extreme thrill rides in which I dare not try again with my wife.

To our surprise, Singapore Universal Studio job opening was a real success, with almost 99% of the live show performance was done by foreigners who speak excellent English.

In short, if you have a chance to visit Singapore, please do not miss Universal Studio. You can purchase your entrance pass online to avoid queuing up for hours just for the tickets.

916 Malysia Day 2011 - Undilah Patriotic Song

On 16 September (916) every year, it is a public holiday in Malaysia, known as Malaysia Day. This special day marks the formation of Malaysia back in 1963. It was formed from Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore. (Malaya refers to West Malaysia & North Borneo refers to Sabah)

However, due to some historical conflict, Singapore was then withdrew from Malaysia and gained independence by itself. Today, Malaysia is formed from West Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

On this special day, the local celebrities in fact came out with a patriotic song - Undilah. It was a success with collaboration from many local celebrities, namely Namewee黃明志, Afdlin Shauki, Kuli and politicians. This special song was directed by Benji Lim..

For as low as $60 per night, you can enjoy a air-conditioned room for 2 people at ChinaTown Singapore. Walk to MRT station and taxi stand in less than 5 minutes.

This is real deal for backpackers, or for tourists who wish to spend minimal for accommodations. I stayed in the room for 5 days 4 nights, and I was quite satisfied with the room.

Rooms available are $60, $70 and $80.

$60 – Room only with shared toilet and bathroom.

$70 – Room with toilet only.

$80 – Room with toilet and bathroom.

All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a 32 inch plasma television.

How to make reservation?

The owner does not accept phone reservation unless you are their regular customers. I had to make my reservation by asking my Singaporean friend to visit the owner and pay the deposit.

How to go to the apartment?

To go to this apartment, you need to take MRT to ChinaTown MRT Station, and look for Exit C. After you exit from Exit C, turn left and look for KFC(Kentucky Fried Chicken) in People’s Park Complex (which is in fact a shopping mall). Once you see KFC, go straight and take the lift to 15^th floor. Once you stepped out from the lift, take right turn and walk up one floor at the second staircase you encounter.

Foods are readily available at ground floor at the food court in which 95% are Chinese food. Fast food restaurants are available, such as McDonald and KFC. Apart from foods, there are lots of Chinese, I mean real Chinese from china who sells various products at the night market, for instant clothing, jewellery, books etc.

I will cover on ways to improve your Adsense earning, as well as some fundamental facts regarding Google Adsense.

What is Adsense?

If you are asking me what is Adsense, it might be a little too late, but it is better to be late rather than never.

Adsense is Google's Advertising Program, which allows website owners to publish advertisements onto their own websites or blogs. Types of ads can be in plain text, or image.

It is the current top online advertising company available worldwide, which is the most trusted company by various advertisers.

Adsense related TERMS:

Page Impressions:
A page impression is often the same as page visits. However, it might differ when a page is viewed, and Google ads do not show up.

Ad Unit Impressions:
This is basically the numbers of ads in your page that are showed, or executed. It is dependent on the numbers of ads in the page.

Click:
Whenever a visitor clicks on the ads, it is recorded as click.

Click through rate (CTR):
This is the calculated by getting your total clicks of the ad unit and divide it by the total ads impression. Higher CTR will rewards you with higher revenue.

Effective CPM:
It is the cost per 1000 impressions. However, this is NOT the total earnings. It is calculated by dividing the earnings by the number of page impressions, and multiplies the result by 1000. This is used generally to compare channel, to decide on which channel is more profitable with Adsense.

Can I use Adsense on any site?

YES. You can use Adsense on websites hosted with your own domain name, or any blogs, such as blogspot.com. However, Adsense only host their ads on CLEAN websites. Sites with pornographic, extreme violence, sites about hacking, racial and political issues, or Adsense farming sites are strictly prohibited. Google will do routine maintenance to avoid publishing ads at such websites.

Adsense farming sites- These are sites which use a lot of search keywords, or use copied content. For example, sites which copy content from Wikipedia, or from online news portal.

What makes Google Adsense so special?

Google Adsense, with its superb technology, is able to serve targeted ads based on website visitors search.

RELEVANT CONTENT: Google will only show ads in relation to the site content, thus making the ads looks blended with the content.

GEOGRAPHICAL VARIATION: Google publish their ads in countries that are chosen by the advertiser.

TIME: Advertisers can choose when they want their ads to be displayed.

How to use Adsense code?

By here, you should at least have your own Adsense account. In Adsense ads setup, you will find html codes, which is then used in your own sites/blog.

Having said that, there are guidelines on how to use Google Adsense code:

1. User MUST NOT alter any part of the codes
2. Use MAXIMUM of 3 Adsense codes on a page
3. Paste your codes in the BODY TAGS of the html to allow it to run properly.
4. BE CAREFUL when using WYSIWYG, or other html editing tools. Some of the tools will alter your codes, making your ads not executable.

4 Main Ways of earning Adsense money

User can earn through CONTENT, FEEDS, SEARCH BOX, and MOBILE ADS.

1. Adsense for content
a. Most popular way, whereby content targeted ads are published onto your own site/blogs.

2. Adsense for feeds
a. Generating revenue when visitors click the ads in your feeds. Ads published are content targeted-ads.
b. More people subscribing your feeds mean more income.

3. Adsense for search
a. Place a search box in your page, and when visitor used the search box, and click an ad from the result page, you gain earnings. Search box is powered by Google.

- Build up your Google Page Rank by building quality BACKLINKS regularly.

2. Converting Traffic into clicks

Once you have a stable traffic, now it is turn to convert your traffic into money. It can happen by converting it into clicks!

Customize your ads to look in-place with your site (not out of place). E.g. size, shape, color, positioning

3. Attracting high-valued Adsense ads

There are some ads which are highly paid by advertiser due to competition. Some writers purposely build a blog to write about the issues or products. And with relevant Adsense ads appearing, it increases the revenue per click.

BMW is my dream car, and I will have to wait for N years to get one. ( N = Infinity? ) Buying a BMW car in Malaysia is no joke, due to the import tax etc, the cheapest BMW you can have is at minimum of RM200,000, or USD 70,000.

During my stroll in one of the supermarket in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, I actually see a "BMW" in the grocery mall, and I mean seriously a "BMW". Anyone can "Ride" the BMW for an hour or so.

Apart from Nissan Fair Lady, there is another imported car, with minimal modifications, such as body kits, custom paint, sports rim, and HID headlamp, probably 16k to produce the purple-light.

Rims was painted in Golden Colour.

Special HID Lamp, super bright, but in Malaysia, it is illegal to have it on a normal vehicle.

My Experience with Pbbseller, Lowyat.NET.

Being a video game lover since I was 6 years old, I purchased my SONY Playstation 3 end of last year. Playing PS3 with a 42' HD LG television, and a 5.1 HD surround system is awesome, however, the original games(Blu-ray) for PS3 as you know it is very costly, simply costing USD50-100, or RM150-RM300 per piece. Please help this Poor Little Dogie!

I know this is not relevant to this blog, but some of you may know that I have a 2-year-old female Maltese named Babie, and she weighs about 4.5kg.

This post is mainly to seek expert opinion, solutions or suggestions from public regarding her skin condition.

My little dog has been suffering from skin disease since December 2010. Due to severe itchiness, Babie keeps scratching and biting. Thus, the fur at her legs started to fall off, and it is getting extensive.

The red patch at the tail is due to her bite mark.

Some of her fur are growing, some are not.
This condition keep repeating like a vicious cycle.

Her back is so smooth. Fur-less.

Patchy fur loss.

We sought treatment from veterinanian, and was diagnosed as yeast infection. Here are some of the summaries regarding the treatment that I have given to her, however, none seems to work.

1) Started on T. Griseofulvin 50mg OD for almost 2-3 months.

2) Concurrently using topical Miconazole(anti-fungal) and steroid cream.

3) Malaseb Shampoo, used every 3 days, soaked for 10 minutes before washed off. Used approximately 1 month.

4) Currently, she is on T. Ketoconazole 50mg BD, 3rd week of treatment. However, skin does not seem to improve, and extending from back leg to neck now.

5) Regular Spot-on and collar(Bayer).

Now we keep her on a tiny shirt to keep her from biting and scratching. But condition remains the same.

I would appreciate if you can offer us any opinion, your past experience, or any good website or links that might help my poor little dogie.

Recently on 9 July 2011, a historical day in Malaysia, BERSIH(NGO) had conducted a peaceful rally in Kuala Lumpur in order to fight for a clean and just election. However, there were some evidence showing the police force had taken some brutal action against the people, resulting in more than 1500 people arrested.

Due to that, there are many different voices showing disatisfaction to Malaysia government and the police force(PDRM). One of them is 100,000 People Request Najib Tun Razak Resignation Facebook fan page. It has received more than 100,00 likes in less than 24 hour, without any paid advertising. This shows that many Malaysians are not happy with their current government.

Current like 173, 296 and it is still increasing.

The way this fan page receive its response is not by paid advertising, however, because there are many people reposting and linking the site, thus the exposure greatly increased.

With great traffic and response, the site was featured even in Google Top Stories page!

As for myself, I used several tactics in increasing my Facebook Page "Like "!

1. Simply make your page interesting and worth following, thus by all means when traffic increased, your Facebook "Like" will eventually increase.

2. Through paid advertising, such as Facebook Adverts, similar like Google Ads in which you will see the ads not in other sites other than Facebook. Minimum fees is USD1.00/day.

3. Repost your links in Facebook by your friends, thus increasing its exposure. When you or your friends "Like" a page, it will appear in the recent updates, thus for people with similar interest, they will click the link, and most probably will "Like" it if it suits their interest.

Genting Highland Trip June 2011 - Part III

In Genting Highland Outdoor Theme Park, there are more than 20+ attractions. One of them is Dinosaurland, which is situated at the end of the theme park.

This very unique park allows the public to learn about the history of dinosaur. There are small boats, ferrying around 10 people, and the boat will follow the small stream into a man-made cave. One can see different dinosaur in the cave, while there are radio broadcasting regarding the history of Dinosaur. This park is suitable for both adult and children, or even couples!

Besides seeing Dinosaur, there is a small wooden hut, with some design, probably related to people at Dinosaur era.

If you are visiting Genting Highland, do not miss the Outdoor Theme Park. It has lots of attraction, including family ride, thrill ride, and children ride.

OMG! My Car is gonna blow!

Some of my readers know that I drive a Black Toyota Vios 1.5E, and a Proton Wira Aeroback 1.3, which is 10 years old. If you want to see my antique car, please follow HERE.

Today during my driving to work, suddenly I noticed my car meter board, please looked at the first photo, it is the normal meter board, and the second photo...OMG, it was way too overheat.

This is the normal view of the meter board(at night).

And this was what happened after a 20 minutes journey. fortunately I was 2 minutes away to the destination, thus stopped by to cool down the car. After 2 hours, the meter went back to normal without intervention and I reached home uneventfully. :) I am so lucky that the car did not go overheat until it burn or blow up.

My Proton WIra meter board was once spoil in my first year of purchase, then under Proton warranty, they changed me a new set without a single cent. However, it broke down again after few years, and I spent RM200+ just to get the meter board fixed.

Genting Highland Trip June 2011 - Part I

During the last school break in June 2011, my wife and I had a wonderful trip to Genting Highland (or Resort World Genting), situated at Pahang, Malaysia.

Genting Highland is "The City of Entertainment" or "The Las Vegas" of Malaysia. It is suitable for people of all ages, as it has a casino called Star World, for people above 18, and an indoor and outdoor theme park, for children. Genting Highland is situated at mountain peak, around 1700m above sea level. The journey to Genting Highland is cheap, and simple if one knows the route.

First we took a SkyBus from LCCT(low cost courier terminal) to KL Sentral, the journey is RM9(USD3), and then from KL Sentral, we took Genting Bus to the cable car station(1 hour), and from there, by using Genting Skyway(20mins), we reached Genting Highland in less than 2 hours in total.

The ticket only cost us RM9.30(USD3) per person to Genting Highland (Inclusive of Bus and Skyway)

There are many hotels provided by Genting Highland, namely Maxims Hotel, First World Hotel, Theme Park Hotel, Resort Hotel, and Highland Hotel, differs by its rates, and also location.

We stayed at First World Hotel for 3 days and 2 night, with the rate of RM216/night, or approximately USD 60/night, with breakfast included.

Perodua Myvi, produced by Malaysia car maker, Perodua Company in 2005, was a success of collaboration between Daihatsu and Toyota. It is a hatchback mini, with 5 versions available. It was the best selling car in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in Malaysia.
