 After MCO was lifted up in Taiwan in the end of year 2022, we could finally fulfilled our trip to Taipei, Taiwan.

The flight ticket was booked back in 2018 through Malysia Airlines Enrich Miles redemption. We were supposed to fly in March 2019, however due to COVID19 and MCO was enforced, the trip was delayed for over two years!

The hotel we booked is a 4-star hotel, Midtown Richardson Hotel, Ximending, Taipei.

The hotel is strategically locally at one of the popular night market/street - Ximending. It was only a 2 minutes walk to the nearest train station(subway), and about 3-4 minutes walk to the night street of Ximending.

Check-in was done hassle-free through their self check-in kiosk.

Internet TV with more than 50 channels.

We booked the hotel with daily buffet breakfast for four. The breakfast comprises of variety of food with mainly Chinese cuisine, such as rice, mixed vege, chicken. For non-rice lover, there were bread and toast, spaghetti, fish ball and sausages, fruits and salad. Drinks includes free flow coffee, tea, apple/orange juice and green tea.

We stayed for a total of 6D5N, and the total bill was: 

Overall it was a pleasant experience staying at this hotel.

DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton - Kuala Lumpur

Had a short solo trip to this hotel and stayed for a night in Oct 2022. If you were to ask me to rate this hotel(let's talk about the price later - see my invoice below), I would give this hotel a 5/5 rating. 

Cleanliness - 5/5 

Staff Professionalism - 5/5

Food - 5/5 (I had 1x breakfast, 2x morning tea break, 2x lunch, and 2x afternoon tea break)

Location - 5/5 

(very near to KLCC, within walking distance of 1km, if by grab RM5.30 during non-peak hours)

To travel to the hotel, I took Grab from KLIA, and it cost me about RM70 (inclusive of toll charges). The journey took less than an hour in the early Saturday morning. 

I reached the hotel before 8am, and was told standard check-in time is at 2pm, though I've requested for early check-in earlier, the request was not granted due to the reason that the hotel was fully booked at that moment.

So I went to my conference first, and checked in at about 3pm during the tea break. My room was 1805.

One can see through the toilet through the glass panel, motorized roller blind is there to protect your privacy

As seen in the pictures, tip-top room condition, cozy, cold and most important of all, all the rooms are non-smoking room. 

Now, for the price, to be honest, RM473.28 for such a room(with breakfast) is a little overpriced. I booked the room 2 weeks before my arrival, which i guess it was quite late. Early bird booking and non-peak season price is slightly cheaper at below RM400, or, you can opt out the breakfast to save some money.

My First ChurpChurp Payment

Ok, so after so many donkey years, I've just cash out my very first ever payment from ChurpChurp in Nov 2014, and received my cheque yesterday. It's not much, but at least it is something, and I will stop using ChurpChurp from now on. I'll explain my reasons below.

So, I started joining ChurpChurp back in 2010 since the very beginning of ChurpChurp establishment. At that time, for whatever campaign or products we shared, we get a RM0.20/unique click, which is the same as now, only that nowadays ChurpChurp has other types of campaign for user to earn extra money, such as writing short story etc. 

If you are with ChurpChurp, I guess you will remember that there was one time ChurpChurp claim the site was hacked, and many users lost part of their earnings. So, I was one of the unlucky one, who got lost around RM10-20. The amount is not much, but HOWEVER, ChurpChurp did not reinstate back my lost money. From their response, they expect me to give them details of my last few earnings, which was highly impossible, and because of that few bucks, I can only cash out the amount end of last year. 

Secondly, I've mentioned before, the unique clicks that you generated for each link you posted, you are supposed to get RM0.20/unique click. In my previous post, you can read at Is ChurpChurp a Scam, I get imbalances from the click and the income. It had happened too many times, and I am too lazy to keep track of it, as the clicks is not really a real time clicks. I am not saying ChurpChurp manipulate their customers clicks and earnings, but somehow, I find it not quite convincing to see my clicks and my earnings not tally. 

Last but not least, it is regarding the payout threshold. It is RM100 minimun, which is relatively high as compared to it's sister site, Nuffnang, which is RM50 only. Anyway, there are many people whom I know who can do really well with ChurpChurp. They can really hit the target every one to two months.

Apple Hotel, Kuala Lumpur 2013

Apple Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, situated right at the middle of happening Jalan Alor, is one of the best budget hotels that I've stayed in.

With only 5 minutes walk from Bukit Bintang Monorail, it is quite a strategic hotel, which is very easy for me to shop in Sungei Wang Plaza, Pavillion, Farenheit etc. In addition, dinner is just nearby where I can just walk out of the hotel and have my meal along Jalan Alor. 

Due to its popularity, it is always best to book early. Though I am travelling alone for 2 nights, I managed only to book a night for double and then for single. Price is RM128 and RM98 respectively. Hence, as for my first night, I stayed in room 410, room for 2. 

A comfortable and small room.  

 Relatively clean bathroom. 

 Though a small room, they managed to squeeze in a table and a chair.

Then, on the second day, I moved to single room, room 201. Well, there wasn't any huge difference, except that they do not have the table and the chair, and they only provided me with one towel, as contrast to my previous night. 

Not to mentioned the hotel, they provides free Wifi, and also free luggage storage service. In addition, for in and out of the hotel, you need to scan your room card to enter the hotel, and then to enter the rooms area, pretty impressive. :)
