Yesterday was a depressing day for many of us in Sarawak general Hospital. We have lost 2 beloved friends, responsible colleagues and passionate doctor and nurse, Dr Mohd Azri Dollah and Norfazillah Abdul Kadiv.
On 9 May 2011, my ex-course mate, together with 3 nurses were having a picnic at Kampung Giam Waterfall near Puncak Borneo. At 11.30am at the waterfall, Norfazillah decided to go to the deeper pool, however, she suffered difficulty in floating and shouted for help. Without hesitancy, Dr Azri swim towards her, trying to pull her out from the river. Due to the struggling, Dr Azri was pulled together into the river and the other 2 companions started to asked help from the people around them.
At that moment, I was at RCBM Hospital, which was situated at 13th Mile, Jalan Puncak Borneo, and we received a ambulance call from the public. Thus without further delay, our ambulance dispatched immediately to the scene. Sadly, upon arrival, both Dr Azri and Norfazillah were pronounced dead, although CPR had been attempted by the public.
It was a sad day for all of us, and the whole Sarawak general Hospital mourned for their death. We have lost 2 very good comrades who worked sacrificially Ministry of Health.
May God bless them and let them rest in peace.
