In Malaysia, owning a SONY PlayStation Portable(PSP) gaming device is very common. Fingers holding it ranges from a 3 years old toddler, to a 60 years old gentleman. SONY PSP comes with a UMD rom to run games using mini disc. However, majority people will choose to customize their PSP by installing a third party operating system, in order to play certain games, and to customize their themes etc. Video console shops in Kuching charge an average of RM40-RM70 (USD20+) for the user to upgrade their existing firmware to the latest one in order to be able to play certain games. This is rather expensive though.
